白银价格周五暴跌31%，创下该贵金属有记录以来第二大单日跌幅。
二月交割的白银期货周四收盘时报每盎司114美元上方，周五结算价已跌至78.29美元。单日35.747美元/盎司的跌幅，几乎相当于去年六月时一整盎司白银的价格。
自去年夏季以来，白银价格呈现爆发式上涨，不仅在十月突破维持45年的历史高位，更从该点位实现翻倍。根据交易所运营商芝商所数据，本周白银期货及黄金、铂金、钯金期货交易量均激增至创纪录水平，散户投资者大举入场成为主要推手。
本轮涨势在周四尾盘出现动摇，当时多家媒体开始报道特朗普总统计划提名前美联储理事凯文·沃什出任下一任央行行长。至纽约午盘时段，白银价格已呈自由落体式下跌。
截至周五收盘，白银创下自1980年3月亨特兄弟操纵白银市场计划失败以来的最大百分比跌幅。若按美元价值计算，本次暴跌更创下史上最大单日跌幅纪录。
尽管遭遇重挫，白银在1月份整体仍累计上涨12%。
