China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd. (CIMC) has released its financial results for the first quarter of 2026. The company reported revenue of 32.664 billion yuan. Net profit attributable to shareholders and other equity holders reached 209 million yuan, with basic earnings per share of 0.0353 yuan.

During the first quarter, global container trade demand demonstrated resilience. Geopolitical events significantly increased uncertainty in the container shipping market. Combined with congestion at European ports, this led to decreased container turnover efficiency and expectations of rising prices, which to some extent boosted customers' willingness to purchase containers. According to the "Global Trade Outlook and Statistics" report released by the World Trade Organization (WTO) in March, although global trade growth slowed in 2026, it maintained a moderate expansion trend. Merchandise trade volume is projected to grow by 1.9% for the full year 2026, with a potential recovery to 2.6% in 2027.

Against this backdrop, the company's container manufacturing business experienced a year-on-year decline in both volume and price during the first quarter of 2026. This resulted in a decrease in both revenue and net profit for this business segment compared to the same period last year. Dry container sales volume was 460,400 TEU, down from 531,200 TEU in the prior-year period. However, driven by demand for new shipping capacity and the replacement of old containers, demand for refrigerated containers continued to grow. The company's refrigerated container sales reached 47,400 TEU, an increase of approximately 30.22% compared to 36,400 TEU in the first quarter of 2025.
