消息面上，美国与伊朗在巴基斯坦伊斯兰堡举行的马拉松式谈判未能达成协议，美国总统特朗普随后宣布，美国海军将开始封锁霍尔木兹海峡，对所有进出伊朗港口的船只实施拦截。霍尔木兹海峡是全球约20%石油贸易的关键通道，此举加剧了市场对原油供应中断的恐慌，导致国际油价应声飙升。
