As the National Day holiday approaches, passenger travel is about to hit a peak. On September 30, reporters learned from airlines and airports that multiple routes will be added or have increased frequency during the National Day period, and airports and airlines have also issued holiday travel safety tips to provide references for smooth passenger travel.

In terms of flights, during the National Day period China Eastern Airlines will add flights from Chengdu Tianfu to Dalian, Jingdezhen, Longyan and other places, and increase frequency on popular routes from Chengdu Tianfu to Yantai, Wuhan, Nanjing, Yinchuan, Guangzhou, Taiyuan, Beijing Daxing and others; routes from Xichang, Yibin and Mianyang to Shanghai Pudong will also be increased accordingly. Spring Airlines will temporarily increase frequency on direct flights from Chengdu Tianfu to Phuket during the National Day period, with one flight per day. This National Day, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Yinchuan, Tengchong and Xishuangbanna are popular destinations for travelers from Sichuan.

While flight capacity increases, airport passenger flow during the holiday is highly concentrated, and check-in and security check channels will see queues of varying degrees. It is recommended to arrive at the airport 2 to 3 hours in advance to allow sufficient time for baggage check-in, security screening and boarding. Before traveling, please also keep following flight status and weather warnings. Autumn is foggy and rainy, and once severe weather such as heavy fog, thunderstorms or strong winds occurs, flights may be delayed or diverted, so it is advisable to prepare contingency plans in advance and properly respond to flight changes.

When flying with these items, the requirements must be clear. During holiday travel, people carry more luggage and items, and many items are subject to carrying restrictions, so it is recommended to check in advance before departure. Ignition sources are strictly controlled by civil aviation. Lighters, matches, cigarette lighters, magnesium fire starters and other ignition devices can neither be carried on one's person nor checked in. If carrying ignition sources, please handle them properly in advance, either by leaving them with family members or placing them in designated storage areas at the airport. When passing through security, please actively cooperate with security staff, place all carry-on baggage and all items in pockets into the security tray for inspection, and never conceal ignition sources.

There are clear standards for carrying liquid items. Liquid items with a single container volume not exceeding 100mL and a total volume not exceeding 1L may be carried on one's person, while the excess must be checked in, and cosmetics are subject to the same rule. In particular, some airlines stipulate that as long as the outer packaging volume of the container exceeds 100ml, even if the remaining liquid inside is less than 100ml, it cannot be carried onto the plane and can only be checked in. Liquid items purchased or obtained by passengers in airport controlled areas or on board aircraft may be carried on one's person before leaving the airport controlled area. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited from being carried on board and can only be checked in if they meet the conditions. The specific requirements are: the label is complete and clear and the item is placed in retail packaging, and each container volume must not exceed 5L; when the alcohol content by volume is less than or equal to 24%, there is no limit on the checked quantity; when the alcohol content by volume is greater than 24% and less than or equal to 70%, each passenger may check no more than 5L. However, if the alcohol concentration is greater than 70%, it may neither be carried on one's person nor checked in.

Power banks and lithium batteries also have strict boarding rules. According to a notice from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, power banks without a 3C mark, with a blurred 3C mark, or belonging to recalled batches or models are prohibited on domestic flights. At the same time, power banks and lithium batteries cannot be used as checked baggage and can only be carried on one's person (except lithium batteries for electric wheelchairs). The requirements are that the markings are clear and complete, and those with a rated energy of 100Wh or less can be carried directly; those with rated energy greater than 100Wh and less than or equal to 160Wh must obtain airline approval in advance, and each person may carry at most two. Seasonal specialties also have particular carrying rules. Live crabs and other aquatic products cannot be carried on board, and passengers planning to travel with crabs need to consult the corresponding airline in advance about whether checked transport is supported and use special packaging to prevent water seepage and leakage from contaminating luggage. In addition, restrictions on the size, weight and number of carry-on baggage differ among airlines, so be sure to confirm clearly before traveling. Taking Sichuan Airlines as an example, economy class passengers may carry only 1 piece of baggage on one's person, with the three sides not exceeding 20×40×55 cm and a maximum weight of 8 kg. If baggage is overweight, oversized or over the allowed number of pieces, please check it in advance.

There is a way to handle forgetting an ID card, and beware of telecom fraud involving flight refunds and changes. If a passenger forgets to bring an ID card, there is no need to panic; they can go to the airport police service window to apply for a temporary identity certificate, or search for "temporary boarding certificate" or "civil aviation public security service" on Alipay, submit information online for verification, and after approval obtain a boarding certificate QR code to complete boarding procedures with the code. For passengers with special travel needs, airlines also provide special services. Unaccompanied elderly people, unaccompanied children or teenagers, first-time passengers, and passengers who need wheelchairs or hearing and visual care services can all make reservations for relevant services in advance to obtain travel support.

It is worth noting that Sichuan has several high-altitude airports. Daocheng Yading Airport, Garze Kangding Airport and Garze Gesser Airport are all above 4,000 meters above sea level, while Aba Hongyuan Airport and Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport are above 3,000 meters above sea level. Temperatures in plateau areas drop significantly in autumn, and flights are easily affected by weather. Passengers planning to go to high-altitude airports should prevent possible altitude sickness, continuously track real-time flight updates, and reserve at least 1 day of flexible buffer time in their itinerary. Note that portable oxygen cylinders, oxygen bags and self-heating food heating packs are all dangerous goods and are not allowed to be carried either on one's person or checked in; if oxygen inhalation is needed, it can be purchased or rented at local pharmacies or hospitals after arriving at the destination. After landing on the plateau, it is recommended to move as slowly as possible, not run or lift heavy objects, try not to bathe or wash hair within 48 hours of arrival, maintain a light diet, and ensure sufficient sleep and rest to reduce discomfort caused by altitude sickness.

Finally, everyone should also be reminded to guard against telecom fraud such as flight refunds and changes. If such messages are received, please first contact the original ticketing channel, or log in to the airline's official website, official app, WeChat public account or mini program, contact online customer service, and call the official customer service phone number to verify authenticity. Keep in mind: "Do not click unknown links, do not easily trust unfamiliar calls, do not disclose personal information, and verify transfers and remittances" to avoid being deceived.
