Weimob Shares Surge in Early Trading Following WeChat's AI Integration Announcement

Shares of WEIMOB INC (02013) opened sharply higher, gaining nearly 9% to reach a high of HK$1.58. At the time of writing, the stock is up 2.76%, trading at HK$1.49 with a turnover of HK$41.94 million.

The surge follows an announcement from WeChat that it will provide developers with access to its AI ecosystem, confirming that the WeChat AI feature is currently in an internal testing phase. Meituan has indicated that, as one of the first teams involved in the testing, it has already collaborated with the WeChat team on development and integration. In the future, users will be able to access local services such as Meituan's food delivery through the WeChat Agent interface.

On the same day, companies including Trip.com and JD.com also announced that they are among the first batch of teams to have gained early access to WeChat's AI capabilities for testing purposes.
