A Tesla owner has successfully navigated the entire breadth of the United States using the Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised system, completing the monumental journey without a single instance of human intervention.

This landmark achievement was met with widespread celebration from the Tesla community on social media platform X, garnering commendation from several high-ranking executives at the electric vehicle manufacturer.

The coast-to-coast drive was executed by Tesla owner Davis Moss, who piloted a stealth gray Model 3 equipped with the advanced AI4 hardware. Data compiled from the FSD database and a community tracker reveals that Moss's last 10,638.8 miles in his Model 3 were driven entirely on FSD. His vehicle is running on FSD software version 14.2.1.25, which was installed just twelve days prior to the trip.

In a celebratory post on X, Moss detailed that his Model 3 completed the full cross-country journey from the Tesla Diner in Los Angeles, California, to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, covering a total distance of 2,732.4 miles in a swift 2 days and 20 hours.

Moss emphasized in his post, "This was accomplished with Tesla FSD V14.2 with absolutely 0 disengagements of any kind even for all parking including at Tesla Superchargers." He further clarified in subsequent comments that the entire trip was free of any close calls or hazardous situations.

The successful FSD journey was met with great enthusiasm from the Tesla community, particularly as a zero-intervention coast-to-coast drive has been a stated objective of CEO Elon Musk since the unveiling of Autopilot 2.0 back in October 2016. Musk had initially projected that such a feat would be achievable by the end of 2017. Moss's accomplishment demonstrates that while the timeline was delayed, the goal itself was ultimately attainable.

Elon Musk personally acknowledged the milestone on X. Tesla's Vice President of AI Software, Ashok Elluswamy, also celebrated, posting, "World’s first fully autonomous coast-to-coast drive, done with Tesla self-driving v14. Congrats and thank you @DavidMoss!" The official Tesla North America account joined in, proclaiming on X, "First Tesla to drive itself from coast to coast w/ FSD Supervised. 0 interventions, all FSD."
