AIA completes additional HK$53.00 million buyback; May repurchases climb to 35.88 million shares

AIA Group Limited disclosed that it repurchased 617,000 ordinary shares on 22 May 2026 through on-market transactions at prices ranging from HK$84.95 to HK$87.00, spending HK$52.99 million. The shares are earmarked for cancellation.

Including this latest tranche, AIA has bought back 35.88 million shares between 4 May and 22 May 2026, equal to approximately 0.34 % of the 10.45 billion shares in issue. Purchase prices over the period averaged between HK$84.61 and HK$89.15.

The current repurchases were executed under the mandate approved on 22 May 2026, which authorises the company to repurchase up to 1.05 billion shares. Following the 22 May transaction, repurchased shares represent 0.01 % of the shares authorised under the mandate.

As required by Hong Kong Listing Rules, AIA is restricted from issuing new shares until 21 June 2026.
