Precious Metals Retreat After Intraday Gains, Gold Edges Down While Silver, Platinum, and Palladium Weaken

During Thursday's (April 16) New York late session, spot gold declined by 0.04% to $4788.96 per ounce. It had risen notably during the early Asia-Pacific trading hours, reaching $4837.68 at 08:40 Beijing time, and remained mostly stable around $4820 for the majority of the day.
COMEX gold futures fell by 0.26% to $4810.50 per ounce, after hitting a daily high of $4861.30 at 13:06.
Spot silver dropped by 0.69% to $78.4150 per ounce. It reached a daily peak of $80.8585 at 13:30 Beijing time, before experiencing a sharp decline shortly before 22:00.
COMEX silver futures decreased by 1.49% to $78.455 per ounce.
COMEX copper futures fell by 0.73% to $6.100 per pound.
Spot platinum declined by 1.07%, while spot palladium dropped by 0.88%.
