Recently, the finals of the "Youth Shop" Owners Vocational Skills Competition took place at the Shanghai Design Center, co-hosted by the Shanghai Youth League and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. As part of the "Striving Cup" the 4th Shanghai Youth Skills Competition, this event was themed “With Hard Work, Let’s Push Forward and Take on Responsibilities to Achieve Success.” Through segments like youth exploration, competitive events, support initiatives, and achieving results, the competition vividly showcased the dedication and contributions of young people in commercial innovation, service upgrades, and skills inheritance.

Twenty-one “Youth Shops,” which advanced from the preliminary rounds, set up business display zones outside the competition area, drawing significant attention from local residents. The event kicked off with the audience experiencing the impact of these small yet brilliantly executed “Youth Shops” on community economy and street quality via a series of “Youth Store” videos.

The “Youth Shops” have invigorated the city and animated local districts while highlighting the journeys of the owners in enhancing their vocational skills and achieving personal growth. The owners showcased their craftsmanship in product displays, shared their commitment during entrepreneurial reflections, and demonstrated creativity through live presentations, thereby fully exhibiting their professional competence, entrepreneurial enthusiasm, and business philosophies.

After intense competition, the event recognized winners for first, second, and third prizes, along with awards for excellence. The event also included representatives from China Construction Bank's Shanghai branch, who interpreted and supported comprehensive financial service solutions for “Youth Shops.”

On-site, teams from the Shanghai Youth League, in collaboration with various governmental departments including the financial work party committee, the commerce commission, and others, established the “Alliance for Supporting Youth Economic Achievements.” Through the efforts of this alliance, city and district youth organizations will further collaborate with relevant governmental departments to implement effective measures that better assist “Youth Shop” owners in improving vocational skills and operational performance, advancing their contributions to social and economic development.

Looking ahead, the Shanghai Youth League, with support from the municipal commerce and cultural tourism bureaus, will continue to promote initiatives aimed at enhancing street commercial vitality and facilitating the implementation of the youth economic program. This effort seeks to leverage youthful energy in boosting local business dynamism while continuously improving the functionality and quality of street business formats and creating distinctive highlights. Additionally, the ongoing stories of the “Youth Shops” will be closely monitored to assist more owners in passing down valuable skills and showcasing rich management creativity.
