CGN Power: Cangnan Unit 1 Cleared for Commercial Operation, Lifts Operating Capacity to 34.25 GW

CGN Power Co., Ltd. announced that Unit 1 of CGN Cangnan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. completed all commissioning work on 29 April 2026 and has been deemed qualified for commercial operation. The unit will formally enter service once customary permits, including the Electric Power Business Permit, are in hand.

With Cangnan Unit 1 coming online, the number of nuclear power generating units managed by CGN Power—covering subsidiaries and associates—rises to 30. Total installed nuclear capacity in operation increases from 33,040 MW to 34,248 MW, equivalent to 34.25 GW.

CGN Power has proposed acquiring an equity interest in Cangnan Nuclear; details were released in a separate announcement on 28 April 2026.

The company’s board was led by Chief Financial Officer Yin Engang in issuing the voluntary disclosure dated 29 April 2026.
