BQD Receives Regulatory Approval for Liu Xiaoshu’s Appointment as Employee Director

Bank of Qingdao Co., Ltd. (BQD) disclosed that it has obtained the “Reply on the Qualification of Liu Xiaoshu as the director of Bank of Qingdao” (Qing Jin Fu [2026] No. 160) from the Qingdao Bureau of the National Financial Regulatory Administration. The document confirms Mr. Liu Xiaoshu’s eligibility to serve on the Board and formalizes his role as an employee director with effect from 20 August 2026.

The approval finalizes a process initiated on 16 June 2026, when Mr. Liu was elected to the ninth session of BQD’s Board of Directors. According to the announcement, there have been no changes to the biographical details previously released on the HKEXnews platform and the bank’s official website.

With Mr. Liu’s addition, BQD’s Board now comprises four executive directors, five non-executive directors, five independent non-executive directors, and one employee director. Chairman Mr. Jing Zailun signed off on the announcement dated 24 August 2026.

The bank reiterated that it is not an authorized institution under Hong Kong’s Banking Ordinance and therefore does not conduct banking or deposit-taking business in Hong Kong.
