On February 10, a delegation led by Xue Songbai, Chief Technology Officer of Sichuan Wolong Changkong Technology Development Co., Ltd., visited Ganfeng Lithium Group Co.,Ltd. to conduct in-depth discussions on collaboration for eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft) power batteries. The meeting confirmed that a high-specific-energy, high-power battery with a density of 320Wh/kg, developed by Zhejiang Fengli, a subsidiary of Ganfeng Lithium Group Co.,Ltd., has been successfully integrated into the Wolong Changkong AE200-100 model and completed its first phase of manned test flights in December 2025.

The battery cell received an approval release certificate in July 2025 after passing a manufacturing conformity inspection jointly conducted by the relevant Civil Aviation Administration of China authority and Wolong Changkong. The manufacturing conformity review is a critical step in civil aviation airworthiness certification, primarily verifying that mass-produced products strictly comply with approved designs. The review team conducted a comprehensive assessment of the environmental controls, process flows, quality management system, and testing capabilities of Ganfeng's solid-state battery production line, confirming its stability and consistency for aerospace-grade products.

The installed battery cell boasts an energy density of 320Wh/kg, supports 2C charging and 5C discharging, offers a cycle life exceeding 1,000 cycles, and meets the "GB 38031—Safety Requirements for Power Batteries Used in Electric Vehicles" standard. It balances lightweight design, high-rate output, and high safety, aligning with the stringent demands of manned eVTOLs for power systems. Both parties expressed their intention to deepen cooperation in low-altitude flight power batteries, jointly build an eVTOL battery cell supply system, and collaborate on full lifecycle management, including cell inspection and recycling. Ganfeng Lithium Group Co.,Ltd. is currently working with Wolong Changkong to advance the next phase of test flights.

Regarding its technology portfolio, Ganfeng Lithium Group Co.,Ltd. has established a full solid-state battery industry chain covering sulfide/oxide electrolytes, lithium metal anodes, cells, and systems. Its lithium metal anode route has achieved engineering validation for a 400Wh/kg cell (over 800 cycles) and has initiated small-batch production of the world's first 500Wh/kg-class 10Ah lithium metal battery. The silicon-based anode route has yielded a gradient of products ranging from 320–450Wh/kg, with the 320Wh/kg model achieving a cycle life of over 1,000 cycles. Additionally, the company has developed a 21700 cylindrical cell suitable for drones and low-altitude equipment, with an energy density of 330–420Wh/kg.

As China's low-altitude economy accelerates, research institutions project the related battery market size will reach 150 to 200 billion yuan by 2030. By obtaining aviation airworthiness certification and completing manned flight validation, Ganfeng Lithium Group Co.,Ltd. has taken a crucial step towards entering the core supply chain for eVTOLs.
