116,000 Humanoid Robot Companies Established in First Half of 2024

The State Administration for Market Regulation released data on the 8th, revealing that in the first half of 2024, enterprises related to new industries and tracks continued to gain momentum. Specifically, 116,000 new businesses were established in the humanoid robot sector, marking a 9.5% year-on-year increase. The service sector showed notable highlights, while the transformation of manufacturing enterprises accelerated, resulting in a vibrant industrial landscape.

New industry and track-related enterprises maintained a steady growth trend. In the first half of the year, 561,000 new businesses were established across the "eight emerging industries and nine future industries." Some frontier fields experienced explosive growth, with 55,000 new enterprises in the generative artificial intelligence sector, up 28.0% year-on-year. The humanoid robot sector saw 116,000 new enterprises, a 9.5% increase.

Service sector entities stood out with notable achievements. A total of 3.957 million new service enterprises were established, unchanged from the same period last year. Traditional commercial and trade enterprises grew steadily, with 1.737 million new businesses in the wholesale and retail sector, a 2.9% increase. New consumer formats showed vibrant vitality, with 31,000 new enterprises in the "silver economy" industry, up 16.0% year-on-year. The cultural tourism industry added 1.475 million new enterprises, maintaining a rapid growth trend. The number of "famous, special, excellent, and new" individual businesses reached 184,000. High-tech services accelerated their expansion, with 322,000 new enterprises in the information transmission and software technology services sector, a 3.3% increase. The inspection and testing services sector added 16,000 new enterprises, a 43.9% rise, while the technology achievement transformation services sector saw 459,000 new enterprises, up 6.8%.

The pace of transformation and upgrading in the manufacturing sector accelerated. Equipment manufacturing advanced toward high-end segments, with 28,000 new enterprises in the high-end equipment manufacturing industry, a 2.5% increase. Among them, intelligent equipment manufacturing grew by 6.4%, and urban rail equipment manufacturing increased by 4.4%. High-tech manufacturing showed strong growth momentum, with the total number of high-tech manufacturing enterprises reaching 330,000 by the end of June, adding 15,000 in the first half of the year. Specifically, the spacecraft and launch vehicle manufacturing sector saw a 185.7% year-on-year increase in new enterprises, the optical fiber and cable manufacturing sector grew by 129.4%, and the integrated circuit manufacturing sector increased by 24.2%.
