10月7日，纽约联储周三公布的调查显示，美国消费者对未来一年通胀的预期在9月明显上升，并创下逾三年来最高水平，同时家庭对当前和未来财务状况的看法均有所恶化。
受访者预计一年后的通胀率将达到3.9%，高于8月的3.6%，为2023年5月以来最高。三年期通胀预期从3.2%升至3.3%，五年期通胀预期则维持在3%不变。家庭对汽油、食品、租金、医疗和大学教育等所有调查类别的价格涨幅预期均有所上升。
纽约联储调查还显示，9月家庭下调了对当前及未来财务状况的评价，并认为当前获得信贷的难度有所上升。不过，家庭对无法按时偿还债务的担忧反而有所减轻。就业市场预期则出现一定改善。与8月相比，受访者认为一年后失业率上升的概率下降，对未来一年遭遇非自愿失业的担忧也有所减弱，同时如果失去现有工作，对重新找到工作的信心有所提高。
