The ASX edged lower at the open after a rally in technology stocks helped Wall Street erase the year’s steep losses, with investors also digesting quarterly earnings from Australia’s biggest bank.
The S&P/ASX 200 edged down 0.1 per cent, or by 3.9 points to 8265.10 in the first few minutes of trade, even as index bellwether Commonwealth Bank rose 0.7 per cent. The All Ordinaries slipped by 2.1 points.
