On August 15, the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area launched the "2026 E-Town Robot Consumption Festival." This year's event builds on the 2025 edition with a comprehensive upgrade, centered on the theme "Buy robots, come to Beijing Yizhuang," to continuously innovate the entire service process of the robot consumption festival and bridge the "last mile" from technology to market.

In August 2025, the world's first E-Town Robot Consumption Festival was held in Yizhuang, achieving total sales exceeding 330 million yuan, with over 190,000 robots and related products sold. The consumer vouchers demonstrated a significant leverage effect, directly driving sales of more than 70 million yuan. JD.com's daily average sales of robots and AI categories across the entire site increased by 101.9% month-on-month. The world's first embodied intelligent robot 4S store became a "traffic magnet," with high-end humanoid robots and other orders worth millions of yuan frequently occurring over 16 days, with orders exceeding 1 million yuan accounting for 25% of total.

A representative from the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area stated, "This year, we have comprehensively upgraded from three dimensions: funding, scenario layout, and consumer experience, striving to make consumers 'buy affordably and enjoy browsing.'" It was noted that this year's consumer festival has increased the special consumer incentive fund from 15 million yuan in the first edition to 18 million yuan, with a focus on the artificial intelligence and embodied intelligent industries. The process for receiving consumer vouchers has been significantly simplified, using a WeChat mini-program for one-click mobile number verification, allowing subsidies to reach consumers directly.

From venues to online platforms, the festival features four major specialized consumption scenarios. In coordination with the 2026 World Robot Conference, it innovatively constructs a "conference, exhibition, competition, and festival" integrated activity model. Compared to last year's festival, it adds a 9,600-square-meter robot consumption street, setting up nearly 100 booths across four sections: brand display, tech culture, specialty dining, and interactive entertainment. It also deploys over 50 robot experience devices covering education, elderly care, and home scenarios, pioneering a "see the future indoors, buy the present outdoors" dual-core consumption model. Special features like AR stamp-collecting check-ins and cultural creative merchandise sales are also included, leveraging exhibition traffic to boost incremental consumption.

The representative added, "This year, we have expanded the scale and format of the consumption street, making it not just a display window but a truly purchasable consumption space." Six major shopping malls—Longfor Beijing Yizhuang Tianjie, Beijing Hualian Yizhuang Shopping Center, Dazu Plaza, Longyue City, Wangfujing Outlet UpTown, and Yinghai Huanfang Hui—are implementing differentiated operations with a "one mall, one strategy" approach. Nearly 600 merchants are offering promotional deals, complemented by 3.5 million yuan in co-branded mall vouchers, establishing a linkage mechanism of "main venue attracting traffic, malls converting sales." During last year's festival, Longfor Beijing Yizhuang Tianjie saw a 20% year-on-year increase in foot traffic and a 32% growth in sales.

This year's festival also introduces three new industrial technology study tour routes: AI Smart Exploration, Aerospace Dream Pursuit, and Intelligent Driving Future. These routes connect key industrial and cultural tourism points within the district, such as Xinghai Piano, Beijing Rocket Street, Nanhaizi Milu Park, and BAIC Arcfox, using autonomous minibuses for seamless transportation, enabling a "one-vehicle joyride."

Simultaneously, JD.com has launched a dedicated robot consumption festival zone, featuring over 600 robot products online, with special online subsidies, and hosting activities like first launches, special promotions, and livestream sales. Consumer voucher coverage extends to emerging smart hardware categories such as AI perception devices, AI mini PCs, and heat press machines, comprehensively enriching the "AI + consumption" scenario.

A representative from the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area stated, "In the future, the area will continue to deepen the integrated development of 'AI + consumption,' gather high-quality innovative resources, cultivate new technology-driven consumption formats, and empower high-quality regional economic development. We will persistently polish the IP of the robot consumption festival, using the festival as a bond and the World Robot Conference as a stage, to promote the deep integration of culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and exhibitions. We will fully leverage the 'ticket economy' to release the effectiveness of linked consumption, transforming 'Buy robots, come to Beijing Yizhuang' from a slogan into a deeply ingrained brand symbol, contributing 'Yizhuang strength' to the construction of Beijing's international consumption center city."
