Nam Lee Pressed Metal Industries removes Executive Chairman Joanna Yong after shareholder vote

Nam Lee Pressed Metal Industries Limited (G0I) announced that shareholders approved the removal of Executive Chairman cum Executive Director Joanna Yong Li Yuen at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on Jan, 9 2026.

The ordinary resolution to oust Yong secured 103,011,808 votes in favour and 49,460,702 votes against, representing 67.56 % and 32.44 % of the 152,472,510 votes cast respectively.

The EGM was requisitioned by substantial shareholders Yong Kin Sen and Yong Poon Miew, who held 19.92 % and 19.57 % stakes in the company as at Dec, 18 2025. Independent director Tay Teck Seng Joshua chaired the meeting after the board deemed it inappropriate for Yong to preside because of a conflict of interest.

Following the vote, the board stated that it can continue to function effectively and that no immediate changes are planned for management or succession arrangements.
