Prudential plc repurchases and cancels shares, trims outstanding stock

Prudential plc said it cancelled 317,142 ordinary shares on Feb, 04 2026, reducing its issued share capital to 2,541,851,765 shares.

The group also disclosed that it had bought back an additional 551,525 shares on Feb, 03-04 2026, of which 286,469 were repurchased on Feb, 04 2026 through the London Stock Exchange for an aggregate consideration of about 6.0 million Singapore dollars. These repurchased shares are scheduled for cancellation.

Under the mandate approved on May, 14 2025, Prudential is authorised to repurchase up to 262.7 million shares; it has so far acquired 65.1 million shares, representing roughly 2.50% of the share count on the mandate’s approval date. A 30-day moratorium on new share issues or treasury share sales runs until Mar, 06 2026 following the latest buybacks.
