Keppel REIT's shares surged 3.37% during Wednesday's intraday trading session, as investors reacted positively to the trust's first-half financial results and the announcement of a strategic divestment in Tokyo.

The rally was fueled by a robust set of H1 2026 results, which showed distributable income from operations climbing 25.2% year-on-year to S$119.6 million, driven by contributions from the newly acquired Top Ryde City Shopping Centre and a higher stake in Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 3. Property income rose 16.7% to S$159.3 million, while net property income attributable to shareholders advanced 13.3% to S$112.1 million. The trust also reported strong leasing momentum, with positive rental reversion of 12.8% and portfolio occupancy remaining high at 96.7%.

Adding to the positive sentiment, the REIT's manager also announced the divestment of its 98.5% stake in KR Ginza II, a freehold boutique office building in Tokyo, for 11.52 billion yen at a 28.4% premium to valuation. Net proceeds from the disposal will be used for debt repayment, reinforcing the trust's balance sheet discipline. The twin announcements underscored Keppel REIT's active portfolio management strategy and its ability to unlock value for unitholders.
