More Convenient Access to Red Island! Dock Project Achieves New Progress, Set to Become New Maritime Tourism Landmark

Deep News
Oct 13

On October 13, with the commencement of quality verification for the floating dock installation project, the Red Island East Dayang Dock project on the north shore of Jiaozhou Bay successfully completed the final step before handover acceptance, officially entering the countdown to full operational deployment. As a crucial component supporting the enhancement of tourism functions on the north shore of Jiaozhou Bay, the project's completion and operation will inject new momentum into the construction of Qingdao International Shipping Center and the upgrade of maritime tourism capabilities.

The handover verification represents the final "health check" before formal acceptance. The Municipal Transportation Bureau Construction Center strictly adhered to regulatory standards, organizing verification teams to conduct comprehensive assessments through on-site inspections, document reviews, and comprehensive evaluations. The teams thoroughly examined project quality, visual quality, and technical documentation, with particular focus on testing and verification of key components such as shore connection structures. Simultaneous verification of construction self-inspection and supervision assessment materials was conducted, establishing a comprehensive quality control loop encompassing "pre-prevention, mid-process control, and post-acceptance."

For individual construction detail issues identified during inspection, the Construction Center established on-site problem rectification lists, clearly defining responsible parties and timelines to ensure "no problems carried over to the next day, with responsive rectification," fully guaranteeing engineering quality excellence and safety reliability.

The Red Island East Dayang Dock is located northeast of the East Dayang Jetty Dock on the north shore of Jiaozhou Bay, representing an important project for the city's integration and optimization of dock resources and improvement of coastal tourism service systems. Upon completion, it will effectively resolve the long-standing bottleneck of lacking professional berthing points for tourist vessels on the north shore of Jiaozhou Bay, establishing a new tourism pattern of "multi-stop journeys with land-sea integration."

According to previous reports, the project involves installing a 45-meter long and 9-meter wide floating dock on the north side of Red Island East Dayang Dock. The new floating dock will provide 2 berths for 35-meter passenger vessels. Additionally, plans include launching ferry services to the East Dayang route, which will significantly boost cultural and tourism economic development in the Red Island area in the future.
