Hangzhou Guotai Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. (301203.SZ) has announced a significant strategic move, planning to invest approximately 808 million yuan in the construction of a new energy material recycling and battery material production project.
The investment will be executed by its controlling subsidiary, Zhejiang Jingzhen New Material Technology Co., Ltd., and will be located in the Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou. The project, which will be developed in phases, is expected to have a total investment of around 808 million yuan, with funds being allocated in separate tranches.
Once operational, the facility is designed to establish a recycling capacity of 100,000 tons per year for high-purity graphite. A portion of this high-purity graphite will be sold directly to external customers, while the remainder will serve as raw material for subsequent surface modification processes. Additionally, the project will create an annual surface modification capacity of 50,000 tons for high-purity graphite used in lithium batteries.
This investment marks a strategic business extension for the company, aligning with its focus on pollution control, resource recycling, and the green production of new energy materials. Leveraging its existing expertise in solid waste resource treatment technology, engineering construction, and operational management, the company aims to enter the high-value utilization of lithium battery anode waste, the purification of high-purity graphite, and the production of graphite anode materials.
By integrating these new capabilities into its business chain, the company intends to strengthen its overall operational framework and cultivate new avenues for growth in the evolving new energy sector.
