Provincial Party Secretary's Annual Commitment to Frontline Workers

Deep News
Feb 13

Under clear skies and with clean streets, the Spring City is preparing for the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday in its most pristine state, awaiting the return of its residents.

This cleanliness is the result of sanitation workers who, with their rough hands, cleanse, groom, and dress the city day after day. Across the city's neighborhoods, delivery drivers carry messages of affection through streets and alleys, their ever-moving wheels delivering heartfelt connections from afar into the warm glow of family reunions.

These individuals not only protect the city's appearance but also convey its warmth. On February 13, Provincial Party Secretary Wang Ning and Governor Wang Yubo inspected public security, fire safety, and market supply arrangements in Kunming for the Spring Festival. They visited and expressed their gratitude to frontline workers, including sanitation staff and delivery personnel, extending sincere greetings to all those on duty during the holiday and offering New Year's blessings to the province's cadres and citizens.

This annual Spring Festival meeting has become a tacit understanding, a promised commitment. Recalling February 8, 2024, Wang Ning shook hands with sanitation worker Gao Aiping and made a simple promise: "We will meet every year."

This commitment reflects the provincial committee and government's enduring concern for every pair of calloused hands, a yearly tribute to each frontline worker who remains at their post. On January 27, 2025, Wang Ning and Wang Yubo honored their promise. "Despite the cold weather, you all still坚守岗位—we salute you," Wang Ning said, inquiring warmly about the work and living conditions of Gao Aiping and her colleagues. He emphasized that sanitation workers are the city's "beauticians," enduring harsh weather to maintain a clean environment, and that the Party and government always keep them in mind.

Another year has passed, and the warm spring sun now blankets the streets of Kunming. At the Rongkang Road trade union station, Wang Ning and Wang Yubo exchanged New Year greetings with sanitation workers and delivery drivers taking a break, showing concern for their daily lives and work. Wang Ning noted that these workers, toiling from dawn to dusk through wind and sun, ensure the city's tidiness and convenience for millions. He urged Party committees and governments at all levels to enhance care, protect rights, and create a supportive atmosphere that honors the dignity and beauty of labor.

Through changing seasons, this concern remains constant. From a simple promise of "meeting every year" to these annual warm gatherings, the牵挂 extends beyond sanitation workers and delivery personnel to include those guarding posts, repairing pipelines, and driving night shifts—they are not passersby but guardians of the city.

This yearly remembrance is the provincial committee and government's warmest response to frontline workers. May we meet each year, and may everyone enjoy lasting safety and health. The city's warmth endures, carried forward through this simple, heartfelt commitment.
