China Starch Holdings Ltd (HK: 03838) has released its financial results for the six months ending June 30, 2026, revealing a shift to a net loss attributable to shareholders of 14.678 million yuan, a reversal from the profit recorded in the prior year period.
According to the company's interim report, revenue for the period declined 1.81% year-on-year to 5.022 billion yuan (in RMB), down from 5.114 billion yuan in the corresponding period of 2025. The basic loss per share stood at 0.0025 yuan.
The company attributed the performance to a challenging market environment, noting that while domestic corn kernel prices remained elevated compared to the same period last year, the group faced a dual squeeze on profitability. Selling prices across its major product lines weakened, while raw material input costs rose significantly, compressing margins and leading to the reported loss.
