Tongcheng Travel's stock plummeted 6.25% during intraday trading on Friday, following the release of its first-quarter earnings report.
The company reported overall revenue and profit growth, but its vacation business segment saw a 5.0% year-over-year revenue decline to RMB 556 million, primarily due to geopolitical factors impacting outbound group tour demand. Average monthly paid users remained flat at 46.4 million, indicating stagnant user growth.
The decline also reflected broad weakness across the travel sector, with other major travel-related stocks also falling during the session.
