"消费者态度仍趋于保守,"宝洁首席财务官安德烈·舒尔坦表示。他指出,退税金额增加成为美国居民可支配收入的"亮点",但全球多重不确定因素正在影响消费趋势。舒尔坦预计经济复苏过程"可能不会一帆风顺"。
密歇根大学4月10日发布的数据显示,消费者信心指数已跌至该调查七十余年历史的最低点。这种悲观情绪广泛存在于不同年龄段、收入阶层和政治立场的群体中。舒尔坦分析称:"消费者显然正面临多重矛盾信号",包括地缘政治不确定性和政治紧张局势,"现在庆祝消费奇迹复苏为时过早"。
财报公布后,宝洁股价在盘前交易中上涨2.3%。
