The first phase of the Beijing-Tianjin Recycled Water Resource Utilization Project, the emergency water supply project for the Beijing-Tianjin Company Data Center, has officially commenced operations. This marks a significant step for Gu'an County in utilizing wastewater resources and advancing the circular economy.

The project's inauguration ceremony was held at the Daqingheyuan Wastewater Treatment Plant in Gu'an County. The facility began operation as valves were slowly opened, allowing clear recycled water to flow smoothly into the supply pipeline network.

The Beijing-Tianjin Recycled Water Resource Utilization Project is funded and constructed by China Water Resources Investment Group Co., Ltd. and operated by Hebei Beijing-Tianjin Water Treatment Co., Ltd. The project spans a total area of 14.7 acres with a total investment of 436 million yuan. It includes the construction of a recycled water plant with an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons and supporting pipeline networks, to be implemented in two phases. Once fully completed, the project will supply up to 21,000 tons of water per day, saving approximately 7.665 million tons of high-quality tap water annually.

The newly activated emergency water supply project for the Beijing-Tianjin Company Data Center has a daily supply capacity of 5,000 cubic meters. Its pipeline network extends approximately 23.3 kilometers. Using an advanced "ultrafiltration + reverse osmosis" dual-membrane treatment process, the project converts treated effluent from wastewater treatment plants into high-quality recycled water. This water will primarily be used for cooling purposes in large data centers and for other industrial applications. The completion and activation of this project not only address the urgent cooling water needs of high water-consumption enterprises in the park but also establish a replicable and scalable new pathway for regional water resource recycling.
