CGN New Energy Reports 15.1% Year-on-Year Increase in August Power Generation

CGN New Energy (01811) has released its latest operational update, revealing that the company's consolidated power generation for August 2026 reached 1,776.3 gigawatt-hours. This marks a significant increase of 15.1% compared to the same period in 2025.

A breakdown of the monthly performance shows varied results across different segments. Wind power projects in China experienced robust growth of 22.1%, while solar projects saw a decline of 2.4%. Gas projects decreased by 6.7% and hydropower projects fell by 16.6%. Notably, the company's Korean operations recorded a strong increase of 21.9% during the month.

Looking at the cumulative figures for the first eight months of 2026, the group's total power generation amounted to 12,719.2 gigawatt-hours, representing a slight year-on-year decrease of 0.6%. Within this period, wind projects in China contracted by 13.5%, whereas solar projects surged by 21.7%. Gas projects dropped by 18.9%, while hydropower showed a modest gain of 2.1%. The Korean projects continued their upward trajectory with an increase of 13.5% for the eight-month period.
