On September 29, today, the Starbucks International Grand Bazaar Intangible Cultural Heritage Flagship Store, nicknamed "Star Bazaar," and the Starbucks Tianshan International Airport Store opened simultaneously, marking Starbucks' official entry into the Xinjiang market.

At the Starbucks International Grand Bazaar Intangible Cultural Heritage Flagship Store, Starbucks led the architectural design of a store for the first time, using the layered, undulating canopy silhouette of a traditional bazaar as its prototype to create a highly recognizable building exterior. Inside the store, Xinjiang elements such as Atlas silk and ethnic musical instruments are woven into the spatial expression.

Since 2020, Starbucks has created 7 intangible cultural heritage concept stores across the country and has continued to promote the spread of intangible cultural heritage through themed merchandise and third-place experience innovations. Building on years of practice, Starbucks has further upgraded its intangible cultural heritage store system, forming two major types: "intangible cultural heritage flagship stores" and "intangible cultural heritage cultural tourism stores," with "Star Bazaar" being the country's first intangible cultural heritage flagship store.

At "Star Bazaar," Starbucks has for the first time engaged in deep collaboration with non-physical intangible cultural heritage projects, jointly creating an immersive intangible cultural heritage song-and-dance experience titled "Dancing Bazaar" with inheritors of Xinjiang's Twelve Muqam. At the same time, Starbucks has also partnered with inheritors of Atlas silk intangible cultural heritage to co-create, interpreting the coffee story through Xinjiang's traditional "dye-first, weave-later" craft.

In entering Xinjiang this time, Starbucks has also launched for the first time a full series of specialty products covering beverages, food, and city gifts. Centering on Xinjiang's unique natural scenery, food culture, and humanistic characteristics, Starbucks has introduced specialty beverages, food, and a city gift series, integrating regional flavors such as red pomegranate, baklava, and milk curd into the coffee experience. The simultaneously launched Xinjiang-themed merchandise series incorporates Xinjiang cultural elements into product design.

It is worth mentioning that during this year's National Day holiday, 1 selected Xinjiang specialty beverage and 3 Xinjiang specialty foods will also make a limited-time appearance in more than 2,700 Starbucks stores across 41 cities nationwide.

"Entering Xinjiang not only means a further expansion of Starbucks' store network, but also means we have the opportunity to go deep into this vibrant market and build sincere and lasting connections with customers in Xinjiang," said Liu Wenjuan, CEO of Starbucks China. "We hope to bring to Xinjiang not just new stores, but a brand-new experience that truly integrates into the local culture and responds to the unique needs of customers and the community. We will continue to invest in Xinjiang, creating a third place that belongs uniquely to Xinjiang for customers through more relevant products, services, and experiences."
