Tencent released its second-quarter results for 2026 on the afternoon of August 12. For the quarter, the company posted total revenue of 204.8 billion yuan. Within this, revenue from fintech and business services reached 60.3 billion yuan, marking a 9% year-on-year increase.

On the model front, following the launch of the Hunyuan Hy3, its superior performance quickly led to integration into products such as WorkBuddy and Yuanbao, with continuous iteration in real-world business scenarios. After its release, usage surged rapidly. The model is also available globally, allowing users to access it directly via the API or through products like the international version of WorkBuddy. The Hy4 is also scheduled to launch soon, aiming to further enhance model performance and multimodal capabilities.

On the product side, WorkBuddy has seen rapid user growth with healthy retention rates, achieving full coverage across multiple systems and devices, including iOS, Windows, Android, and HarmonyOS. Leveraging its strong Harness engineering capabilities, a wide range of model choices, and an industry-leading skill library, WorkBuddy has become a leading domestic AI-native productivity agent. Furthermore, Tencent's intelligent agent strategy has evolved from a single-product champion to a multi-product matrix leader, including CodeBuddy, Marvis, and QClaw. To meet the demands of large-scale intelligent agent deployment, Tencent Cloud has further upgraded its infrastructure, including runtime, sandbox, and memory capabilities, creating a comprehensive technical foundation for the entire lifecycle of intelligent agents.

Driven by AI capabilities, Tencent Cloud鈥檚 international business maintained a rapid growth trajectory this quarter, continuously validating its global service capabilities in complex scenarios such as cloud migration and audio/video services.

Tencent Chairman and CEO Ma Huateng stated: "We are building a new, AI-powered Tencent across three layers鈥攊ntelligence, applications, and infrastructure鈥攁nd we have made significant progress. At the intelligence layer, the official version of Hy3 provides users with a widely accessible and cost-effective model, laying the foundation for the Hy series to reach industry-leading levels in the future. At the application layer, the AI office productivity service WorkBuddy and the AI coding tool CodeBuddy have achieved breakthrough user growth, leading their respective fields in China. At the infrastructure layer, we have significantly increased computing power procurement, which will help convert our applications and model usage into revenue."

The financial report shows that this quarter, Tencent鈥檚 R&D investment increased by 35% year-on-year, reaching 27.3 billion yuan. Capital expenditure was 52.8 billion yuan, a 176% year-on-year increase.
