XPENG-W (09868) saw its shares plummet 5.24% during intraday trading on Friday, leading declines in the new energy vehicle sector.
The sharp drop comes as the company is scheduled to release its fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 results later today. Market sentiment was dampened by recent analyst reports, with China International Capital Corporation (CICC) lowering its 2025 profit forecast for XPeng to a loss of RMB 1.13 billion from a prior estimate of a loss of RMB 780 million, citing increased expense investments and intensified market competition.
Meanwhile, UOB Kay Hian maintained its forecast for XPeng's 2025 net loss at RMB 1.481 billion, implying a fourth-quarter net profit forecast of RMB 42 million, which falls below the market consensus estimate of RMB 100 million.
