The 2026 Huibao Tianxia Insurance Conference was held from July 3rd to July 4th.
Zhang Yan, Deputy District Chief of the Wujiang District People's Government in Suzhou, stated in her address that Wujiang is located in the core area of the Yangtze River Delta, serving as the forward position for Suzhou's integration into the Delta's coordinated development and a bridgehead for the integrated development of Shanghai and Suzhou. Zhang Yan noted that in the previous year, the added value of the district's financial sector reached a significant scale, maintaining a relatively high proportion of the regional economic aggregate. Insurance business revenue also increased correspondingly, showing a positive overall growth trend. With industrial capabilities steadily rising, the district has pursued bold exploration and experimentation, achieving several national firsts in areas such as the low-altitude economy, "insurance + mobility," and biodiversity finance. This year, it pioneered the OPC ecological service chain digital-intelligent insurance nationwide, accumulating valuable experience for regional financial reform and innovation.
Zhang Yan mentioned that currently, the district is planning and constructing the Suzhou Bay Financial Agglomeration Zone to high standards. It has already attracted a cluster of high-level financial institutions, and the Yangtze River Delta Financial Research Institute Suzhou Bay Base was successfully established not long ago. The financial and insurance ecosystem continues to improve, with agglomeration effects accelerating. The fact that this year's Huibao Tianxia Insurance Conference is being held in Suzhou's Wujiang District, marking its first venture outside Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, represents high recognition of Wujiang's socio-economic development, its quality business environment, and its financial innovation capabilities. It also provides a powerful boost for the high-quality development of Wujiang's financial and insurance industry.
"The year 2026 marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan period and is a critical juncture for the insurance industry's transition towards high-quality development," Zhang Yan stated.
