Singapore Exchange announced on Nov, 27 2025 the winners of the eighth SGX Orb Awards, which recognise outstanding financial journalism and content across multiple formats.
The 2025 theme, “multi-generational perspectives on the forces shaping capital markets”, inspired the introduction of a youth-focused Special Category titled “The Markets of Tomorrow”.
Key winners are: • Story of the Year – “Loss in translation: The downside of a haven currency like Singapore” by Goola Warden (The Edge Singapore). • Special Category – “What if the next IPO isn’t a company?” by Fedora Tan and Darren Tan (Ngee Ann Polytechnic). • The Hidden Gem – “Thakral unlocks value with GemLife IPO, India expansion and another potential IPO” by Samantha Chiew (The Edge Singapore). • An Experiential Treat – “How much are young adults spending?” by Sue-Ann Tan and Timothy Goh (The Straits Times). • #TheGoTo – thrive by The Business Times.
Entries were evaluated by an independent judging panel comprising industry professionals from MoneyOwl, Avanda, GlobalCapital, Azure Capital, iFAST Global Markets, Dr Wealth and Beansprout.
Singapore Exchange said the awards aim to promote investor education and nurture talent by rewarding balanced and innovative storytelling that helps investors navigate financial information.
