China's Commerce Ministry Extends Trade Barrier Investigations into U.S. Practices

The Ministry of Commerce announced the extension of trade barrier investigations into U.S. practices and measures related to undermining global industrial and supply chains and obstructing green product trade.

According to the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Commerce's Rules on Trade Barrier Investigation, on March 27, 2026, the Ministry of Commerce issued Announcements No. 17 and No. 18 of 2026, deciding to launch trade barrier investigations into U.S. practices and measures related to undermining global industrial and supply chains and into U.S. practices and measures related to obstructing green product trade.

Given the complexity of the cases, in accordance with Article 32 of the Rules on Trade Barrier Investigation, the Ministry of Commerce decided to extend the investigation period for both cases to December 27, 2026.
