Cross-border visits to relatives, border trade, and cross-border sightseeing and leisure travel all overlapped during this year's National Day holiday, pushing the total number of inbound and outbound travelers at the China-Myanmar border Yunnan Ruili Port past 100,000, according to a notice issued on October 8 by the Ruili Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station.
As of 24:00 on October 7, during this year's National Day holiday from October 1 to October 7, the China-Myanmar border Yunnan Ruili Port recorded a total of 102,891 inbound and outbound passenger trips and 8,837 inbound and outbound transport vehicles.
The port is located in Ruili City, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, bordering Myanmar's Panghsai, Muse, and Namhkam to the east and south, and is a national first-class land port with the largest flow of people, vehicles, and goods along the China-Myanmar border.
The peak arrived on October 5, when 14,923 inbound and outbound passengers were processed in a single day.
Holiday passenger flows showed distinct characteristics of frequent two-way travel, diverse travel structures, and strong demand for cultural tourism, with passenger groups including Chinese travelers returning home for the holiday, Myanmar border residents entering China for sightseeing, shopping, and leisure, and cross-border trade workers making regular round trips.
To handle the large holiday crowds, the Ruili Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station relied on the port duty command center to monitor passenger density in the hall in real time, assess flow trends in advance, dynamically deploy duty police forces, flexibly open additional inspection windows, implement a passenger-vehicle diversion inspection model, fully leverage facial recognition-assisted inspection, and promote online pre-declaration of foreigner arrival cards to reduce on-site waiting time.
