根据官方通告，博洛尼亚、特雷维索和威尼斯等地机场已实施航油限供措施，有效期持续至本周四。米兰利纳特机场亦发出可能采取限制的警告。相关通知指出，由英国石油旗下子公司负责的机场燃油供应业务出现紧缺状况。在此情况下，医疗救援航班与航程超过三小时的长途航班将获得供油优先权。
霍尔木兹海峡的运输中断导致航油运输受阻，价格随之飙升。高盛集团分析数据显示，欧洲约40%的海运航油进口依赖波斯湾地区供应。
意大利航空管理部门试图淡化即将出现短缺的预期。民航局局长皮尔路易吉·迪帕尔马在接受媒体采访时强调"当地不存在航油供应问题"。运营威尼斯、特雷维索及维罗纳机场的SAVE集团表示，当前供应困境仅涉及单一供应商，仍有其他渠道可为航班提供燃油保障。
