Renowned fund manager Cathie Wood's investment management company ARK Invest purchased $15.6 million worth of shares in Ethereum holding company BitMine Immersion Technologies Inc. (BMNR.US) on Wednesday through three of its actively managed exchange-traded funds. The majority of the acquisition was completed through ARK's flagship fund ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK.US), which purchased 227,569 shares of BitMine Immersion Technologies Inc. stock. Meanwhile, ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW.US) added 70,991 shares, and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF.US) purchased an additional 40,553 shares. BitMine Immersion Technologies Inc. (BMNR.US) closed Wednesday at $46.03, down 7.8%. The stock rose 2.5% in pre-market trading Thursday. This company, led by Fundstrat's Tom Lee, is one of Ethereum's largest corporate holders, holding over 1.7 million tokens worth nearly $8 billion at current prices. Cathie Wood began building a position in BitMine Immersion Technologies Inc. on July 21, spending $174 million through three funds to purchase shares that day. On August 2, her company again increased holdings by $17 million in BMNR stock through its funds. ARK Invest has also been actively building positions in other cryptocurrency-related stocks, holding significant positions in Coinbase Global (COIN.US) and cryptocurrency exchange Bullish (BLSH.US). The company increased holdings by $21.2 million in Bullish stock and $16.2 million in Robinhood Markets (HOOD.US) stock on August 20. In contrast, ARK Invest reduced its DraftKings (DKNG.US) position by 266,052 shares through ARKF, ARKK, and ARKW on August 27. Based on DraftKings' closing price of $47.80, this reduction was valued at approximately $12.7 million.
