Jardine Cycle & Carriage (C07) said on Oct, 15 2025 that Samuel Tsien will become its independent chairman on Nov, 11 2025, succeeding John Witt, who is retiring as previously announced on May, 29 2025.
Tsien has been a non-executive independent director of the company since Oct, 01 2021 and currently serves as its lead independent director.
The former Group CEO of Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited, Tsien sits on the boards of Singapore Exchange and Mapletree Investments and chairs MPACT Management, the manager of Mapletree Pan Asia Commercial Trust.
Jardine Cycle & Carriage’s Group Managing Director, Ben Birks, said the leadership of an independent chairman will strengthen the firm’s focus on shareholder value.
