Due to a shortage of air traffic controllers, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has imposed restrictions on most business aviation operations at airports including John F. Kennedy International, Los Angeles International, and O'Hare International. This move follows earlier mandatory cuts to airline flight schedules.

Flight disruptions across the U.S. worsened over the weekend, with thousands of cancellations and delays affecting carriers such as American Airlines (AAL), Delta Air Lines (DAL), and United Airlines (UAL).
