Orix Corp (IX) shares soared 6.36% in pre-market trading on Wednesday, following the release of its impressive half-yearly earnings report. The Japanese financial services company demonstrated significant growth in both earnings and revenue, surpassing previous year's figures.
According to the report, Orix Corp's earnings for the six months ended September 30 reached 239.91 Japanese yen ($1.55) per diluted share, marking a substantial increase from 159.15 yen in the same period last year. This represents a year-over-year growth of approximately 50.7% in earnings per share.
The company also reported a robust increase in revenue, with the half-yearly figure climbing to 1.564 trillion yen from 1.404 trillion yen in the previous year. This 11.4% revenue growth, coupled with the significant boost in earnings, appears to have fueled investor optimism, leading to the pre-market stock price surge.
