8月19日，Viking Therapeutics盘前跌超30%，消息方面：公司口服减肥药的研究试验数据不及预期。
Viking Therapeutics公布，与安慰剂相比，其实验性口服肥胖症药物VK2735的体重下降幅度具有统计学意义，而且在13周的每日服药过程中安全、耐受性良好。该药物在13周内帮助患者平均减轻了12.2%的体重，分析师在结果公布前预计平均减重幅度在10%至15%之间。
另外，13%接受安慰剂治疗的患者因副作用而中断治疗，而20%接受VK2735治疗的患者因副作用而中断治疗。
