美国海军学会数据显示，目前正在东地中海支援对伊朗军事行动的"杰拉尔德·R·福特"号航空母舰，已成为苏联解体后部署时间最长的航空母舰。
截至周三，这艘核动力航母已连续部署295天，超越了"亚伯拉罕·林肯"号航母在2019至2020年创下的294天纪录。非营利组织美国海军学会持续跟踪军舰部署情况，其记录显示林肯号在2003年曾部署290天。
福特号去年6月从弗吉尼亚州诺福克母港启航后，已两次延长部署期限。弗吉尼亚州民主党参议员蒂姆·凯恩透露，该舰预计将于5月返航。
此次部署期间，福特号先在地中海执行任务，随后转赴加勒比海支援抓获委内瑞拉总统尼古拉斯·马杜罗的军事行动。不久后该舰又被调往中东，参与对伊朗的打击行动。驻留期间，舰上洗衣舱发生非战斗性火灾，导致600名水兵失去睡眠床位。美国海军学会称，航母随后驶往地中海进行维修。海军近期表示，福特号将重新加入"史诗狂怒"行动，并"具备全面执行任务的能力"。
