Fuel Prices Set for Adjustment Tonight, Government Steps In

Deep News
Yesterday

The government continues to implement temporary control measures on refined oil product prices. Since the domestic refined oil product price adjustment on September 11th, the complex and volatile geopolitical situation in the Middle East has caused international crude oil prices to surge, then fall back, and now they have climbed once again. To mitigate the impact of rising international oil prices on the domestic market, the national government is persisting with temporary regulatory measures on domestic refined oil product prices.

According to the calculations under the current pricing mechanism, starting from 24:00 on September 24th, the benchmark prices for domestic gasoline and diesel should have increased by 830 yuan and 800 yuan per ton, respectively. Following regulatory intervention, the actual increase will be capped at 395 yuan and 385 yuan per ton.

The National Development and Reform Commission will guide refined oil production and sales enterprises to make every effort to ensure production and transportation, guaranteeing a stable market supply. In coordination with relevant departments, they will intensify market supervision and inspection efforts, strictly penalize any illegal or non-compliant activities such as failing to adhere to national pricing policies, and earnestly maintain market order to protect consumer interests.
