2026 Chinese New Year Film Pre-sales Surpass 160 Million Yuan; "Cinema+" Consumption Pilot Program Set for Launch (Relevant Stocks Listed)

In line with the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, and to further implement initiatives aimed at boosting consumption, the National Film Administration and the Ministry of Commerce have jointly launched a comprehensive "Cinema+" consumption pilot program. The objective is to enhance the role of film in driving consumption growth and facilitate the transformation of the film industry towards a diversified consumption ecosystem.

Based on selective recommendations from relevant provinces and cities, 16 urban areas have been designated as pilot cities for the "Cinema+" consumption initiative. These include Chaoyang District in Beijing, Changchun City in Jilin Province, Hongkou District in Shanghai, Wuxi City in Jiangsu Province, Ningbo City in Zhejiang Province, Fuzhou City in Fujian Province, Qingdao City in Shandong Province, Zhengzhou City in Henan Province, Yichang City in Hubei Province, Changsha City in Hunan Province, Shenzhen City in Guangdong Province, Liangjiang New Area in Chongqing, Chengdu City in Sichuan Province, Yan'an City in Shaanxi Province, as well as Kunshan City in Jiangsu Province and Nanxun District in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province.

According to the program's framework, pilot cities will focus on cultivating new growth in cinema attendance, enhancing the quality and innovation of theater-related consumption, creatively expanding film derivative consumption, building strong "Cinema+" consumption brands, and exploring methods for monitoring "Cinema+" consumption trends. The initiative aims to leverage film's creative leadership, cultural enrichment, and ability to attract crowds, using "Cinema+" consumption to energize economic and social development. It seeks to create new business models, formats, and scenarios related to film consumption, further extending the industrial chain, value chain, and consumption chain of the film sector. The program also aims to foster a healthy culture and favorable environment for film consumption, promote the prosperous development of the film market, and better meet the people's growing needs for a better life.

Pre-sales for the 2026 Chinese New Year film season have officially commenced, with titles such as "惊蛰无声," "镖人:风起大漠," "飞驰人生3," "星河入梦," "熊猫计划之部落奇遇记," and "熊出没·年年有熊" leading the box office rankings for new releases. According to data from online platforms, as of 3:00 PM yesterday, pre-sales for the 2026 Chinese New Year film season had already exceeded 160 million yuan, setting a highly optimistic tone for the holiday box office period.

Companies involved in the Hong Kong-listed film industry chain related to the "Cinema+" concept include DAMAI ENT (01060), MAOYAN ENT (01896), IMAX CHINA (01970), and China Ruyi (00136).
