Far East Orchard Limited (O10) said on Jul, 27 2026 that it has obtained Gateway 2 approval for its planned 239-bed purpose-built student accommodation development at Plymouth Grove in Manchester, allowing construction to begin under the United Kingdom’s Building Safety Act.

The scheme is being developed through the Far East UK Student Accommodation Development Fund (FESAD) and is scheduled for completion in 2028, in time for the 2028/29 academic year.

Upon completion, the residence will be operated by Homes for Students, a subsidiary of Far East Orchard, extending the group’s integrated platform spanning investment, development, asset management and operations.

The project is located within walking distance of both the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University, addressing what the company describes as one of the UK’s most undersupplied student housing markets.

Gateway 2 approval for Plymouth Grove follows the topping-out of FESAD’s first project on Osborne Street, Glasgow, in Apr, 2026, reflecting continued progress in Far East Orchard’s United Kingdom PBSA development pipeline.
