On July 30, iShares Core MSCI Emerging Markets ETF rose 3.09% in regular trading, trading at $76.33/share, with turnover of $262 million.

On the news front, Samsung Electronics, a major constituent of the MSCI Emerging Markets Index, reported second-quarter results that significantly exceeded market expectations. The company posted sales of KRW 171.50 trillion, up 28.11% year over year; operating profit of KRW 89.49 trillion, up 56.37% year over year; and net income of KRW 71.27 trillion, surpassing analyst estimates. The semiconductor business saw profit growth of over 250 times, driven by robust AI chip demand.

Samsung management stated that AI infrastructure capital expenditure continues to rise and storage demand outlook remains optimistic, with server-centric demand expected to stay strong in the second half. The company forecasts a more severe chip supply shortage in 2027 persisting through 2028, and has secured multi-year supply deals with the top five global data center customers covering 60%-70% of total capacity. The Korean KOSPI index surged as much as 3% intraday on the back of these results.

The fund generally invests at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of its underlying index. The index is designed to measure large-, mid- and small-cap equity market performance in global emerging markets.
