Citi has released a research report indicating that its recent survey of premium mass-market gaming tables revealed weaker-than-expected Macau gaming revenue in June and July this year, which the bank attributes primarily to the impact of the World Cup rather than any structural decline.

The report notes that high-end mass-market players remain enthusiastic about Macau's gaming and non-gaming offerings. The survey of 31 heavyweight VIP customers showed that the average bet per hand surged 54% year-on-year to HK$243,500, reflecting that premium players still possess strong spending appetite and capability.

Citi maintains its forecast of 6% year-on-year growth for Macau's full-year gaming revenue, with its sector stock preferences ranked as follows: Galaxy Entertainment (00027), Wynn Macau (01128), MGM China (02282), Sands China (01928), Melco Resorts (MLCO.US), and SJM Holdings (00880).
