The main structure of Peking University People's Hospital's Xiong'an campus was fully topped out on February 8, with operations expected to commence in 2027. Hospital President Wang Jun stated that the new campus will adopt integrated management and standardized services consistent with the Beijing campus, incorporating AI (artificial intelligence) throughout the entire diagnosis and treatment process. Construction of the Xiong'an campus began on November 20, 2023, covering 114.6 acres with a total floor area of 255,700 square meters.

"Expert teams from the Beijing campus will regularly conduct outpatient services and surgeries in Xiong'an on a weekly basis," Wang Jun explained. The hospital will fully transfer key specialties, expert teams, and research platforms to Xiong'an, achieving resource integration, service standardization, and synchronized management. The new campus will focus on core disciplines including hematology, thoracic oncology, and trauma emergency care.

The hematology department will be adjacent to the hematopoietic stem cell laboratory, enabling seamless integration of clinical care and research. The thoracic surgery department will feature integrated smart operating rooms capable of supporting advanced surgical procedures. The trauma emergency center will establish a "golden one-hour" rapid treatment channel to significantly enhance critical care capabilities.

The campus will function as a "smart hospital" with intelligent pre-consultation guidance and precise triage to reduce patient waiting times. Indoor navigation systems will guide patients through treatment routes, while AI pre-consultation systems will automatically organize patient medical information to improve diagnostic efficiency. Services including smart follow-ups, internet-based诊疗, and medication delivery will be gradually implemented.

The new campus plans to optimize patient, medical staff, and material flows through a "one-stop" medical layout. Centralized registration, examination, payment, and pharmacy services will be located adjacent to clinical areas to minimize patient movement. Dedicated通道连接 emergency and operating rooms will ensure efficient critical care transitions, while smart logistics systems will enable rapid transmission of medications and supplies.

The campus will include age-friendly facilities, barrier-free通道, and family-centered maternity wards. Construction will now proceed to secondary structures, mechanical/electrical installations, and interior finishing phases, with full operational readiness targeted for 2027.
