Shares of VGT soared 5.33% in intraday trading on Thursday, extending a powerful rally in the printed circuit board (PCB) sector.
The surge was driven by a broad sector advance after a Citi research report indicated that the average selling price of 1080-series electronic-grade fiberglass cloth rose 17%-18% month-over-month in August, marking the largest monthly increase this year. Citi expects major copper-clad laminate (CCL) producers to initiate a new round of price hikes, with an anticipated 10%-15% increase in August. The fiberglass cloth price surge catalyzed strong buying across PCB stocks, with VGT's A-shares having surged 17.12% in the prior session, and the Hong Kong-listed shares continuing the upward momentum.
Additionally, VGT recently confirmed that certain high-end PCB products have entered mass production, with robust order backlog and healthy capacity utilization, supporting orderly capacity expansion at its Huizhou Factory No. 4.
