According to a report by the Financial Times on the 11th, citing informed sources, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky intends to announce plans regarding Ukraine's presidential election and a national referendum on a peace agreement with Russia on the 24th.

Sources familiar with the matter from Ukraine and Europe stated that this move comes as the White House is exerting significant pressure on Kyiv, with the U.S. hoping to conclude Russia-Ukraine peace negotiations this spring.

The report noted that the Trump administration has demanded that Ukraine hold a presidential election and a referendum on a peace deal with Russia by May 15, warning that failure to do so would "jeopardize the proposed (U.S.-Ukraine) security agreement." In light of this, Ukraine has already begun planning for the presidential election and referendum.

It was also reported that the Ukrainian presidential office has not yet commented on the matter.

Zelensky recently outlined his latest stance on three key issues: ending the conflict with Russia, territorial matters, and security guarantees for Ukraine. He stated, "The Americans have proposed that Russia and Ukraine end the war by this summer, and they may pressure both sides according to this timeline."
