CNGR (02579) saw its shares rise nearly 9% during the morning trading session. At the time of writing, the stock was up 7.18%, trading at HK$38.82, with a turnover of HK$69.33 million. The company previously issued its first-quarter earnings forecast, projecting net profit attributable to shareholders of RMB 530 million to RMB 590 million, a year-on-year increase of 72.32% to 91.82%. Soochow Securities noted that CNGR's first-quarter performance exceeded expectations, with pre-cursor export shipments rising over 10% quarter-on-quarter and maintaining stable profitability. Rising nickel prices contributed significantly to profit growth in the first quarter, while the company also demonstrated leadership in sodium battery technology, shipping 700 tons during the period. Notably, CNGR's electrolytic nickel product has been successfully registered as a deliverable brand on the Shanghai Futures Exchange. This follows the brand's earlier registration with the London Metal Exchange, meaning CNGR's "DX-zwdx" brand electrolytic nickel is now registered on both major exchanges. This milestone signifies that CNGR's electrolytic nickel products have entered the two core global and domestic commodity pricing and delivery systems.
